Membership Requirements
(Or: "What do I need to do?")
- Be at least 17 years old
- Fill out an Application for Membership
- Obtain two references from non-family and non-squad members
Upon receipt of the entire application, you will be contacted by a member of the membership committee to set up an interview. During this interview we will explain as much as possible about the Squad (riding requirements, training, crews, etc.) This is also your opportunity as well to ask any questions you may have.
You don't need any medical training to start the process! We'll provide all the training that you need. When you join, we'll help you get your CPR certification and you can begin riding along with an experienced crew, helping out and learning while you work toward your state EMT certification!
Scheduling is flexible! Let us know when you can give us your time, and we'll find a place for you.

What will riding on an ambulance be like?
Riding on an ambulance can be a completely different experience from person to person. If you'd like to experience it for yourself before joining, you can participate in our ride-along program. This is your opportunity to join an on-call ambulance crew during a duty shift, accompanying them on calls that they receive. The only requirement is to be 18 or older. Please contact us to schedule a time to ride. We'd love to have you along!
I have more questions.
